This database indexes Japanese periodical articles published from 1868 to present time, including local periodicals not present in other indexes and those published in former Japanese colonies. The database merges data from the National Diet Library’s Zasshi Kiji Sakuin (Japanese Periodical Index of 19,514 journals held by the NDL), the National Institute of Informatics’ CiNii (index to Japanese studies research articles, and Webcat (a union catalog of the academic libraries in Japan). Coverage is 1868-present.
